TuJu App Not Working? Fixes That Help
TuJu is a solid app, but like any navigation app, it can misbehave. If the TuJu app is not working on your phone — won't load, can't find your location, crashes, or just shows a blank map — don't delete it yet. Almost every common problem has a quick fix.
Work through these in order. Most people are back up and running by fix #2.
Fix 1: Check location permission
This causes more TuJu problems than everything else combined. The app is useless without your location, and many users deny the permission during setup without realising.
On Android: Settings → Apps → TuJu → Permissions → Location → set to "Allow only while using the app" (or "Allow all the time" if you want background traffic alerts).
On iPhone: Settings → TuJu → Location → "While Using the App". Make sure Precise Location is on too — without it, the app can't place you accurately on the highway.
Then force-close TuJu and reopen it. This alone fixes the majority of "app not working" reports.
Fix 2: Update the app
TuJu launched in November 2025 and has been updated steadily since. Running an old version is the second most common cause of trouble — especially after the wave of new users in October 2026, when older builds started showing their age.
Open the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, search TuJu (published by Prosignal Consortium Sdn Bhd), and install any available update. If auto-update is on, check anyway — it sometimes lags.
Fix 3: Check your GPS and connection
TuJu needs two things from your phone: a GPS lock and mobile data. If the map loads but your position dot is wrong or frozen:
- Make sure mobile data is on and you have signal — highway stretches with poor coverage will degrade the app.
- Turn on High Accuracy / Precise location mode in your phone's location settings.
- Step outside or near a window for the first GPS lock; tall buildings and parking structures block the signal.
- Toggle location off and on again in your quick settings — this forces a fresh satellite lock.
Fix 4: Clear cache (Android) or reinstall
If the app opens but behaves strangely — blank screens, frozen maps, features that worked yesterday — corrupted cached data is the likely culprit.
On Android: Settings → Apps → TuJu → Storage → Clear Cache. Don't hit Clear Data unless you want to reset the app completely — cache is enough.
On iPhone there's no cache-clear button, so delete the app and reinstall it fresh from the official App Store listing. You'll need to grant permissions again.
Fix 5: Restart your phone
The oldest fix in the book, and it still works. A restart clears stuck GPS services and background processes that interfere with navigation apps. If TuJu worked fine yesterday and broke today for no reason, restart before you try anything drastic.
Known limitations (not bugs)
Some things users report as "not working" are actually just how the app is:
- No Android Auto / CarPlay. TuJu doesn't support either yet. It only runs on your phone screen. This is a missing feature, not a bug — see our TuJu vs Waze comparison for the full picture.
- Slow CCTV images. The 33 highway cameras are periodic snapshots, and they can take a while to load on slow connections. Give them time, or check on WiFi before you leave.
- Thin city coverage. TuJu is highway-first. If navigation feels sparse in town, that's by design — our TuJu app overview explains what the app is built for.
- Not on AACP. As reported at launch, TuJu isn't available on the AACP platform.
Still broken? Report it properly
If none of the above helps, the problem may be on TuJu's side — server issues happen, especially during traffic surges like the October 2026 spike. Wait a few hours and try again.
For persistent bugs, report through the proper channel: use the MyJalan integration inside the app, or contact support via the app's official store listing page. And since we're an independent guide site (not the developers), we can't fix the app itself — but do tell us in the comments what happened and what fixed it. Your experience helps the next driver.
